Here are a few examples of were FlexiRoofUK go to extra lengths to make sure that weak spots on a roof are protected properly The weak point is where the rubber contacts a wall, so firstly he uses a Firestone water block sealant to stick the rubber to the wall, which is watertight. Secondly, he covers this joint with a Firestone aluminium flashing, sealed into the wall above with a sealant that is left to dry. Finally, he puts a rubberised paint on the brickwork and flashing to prevent any hairline fractures that could potentially leak in a downpour. A second weak point is patched at awkward areas such as corners.

Ben sticks a Firestone-made patch on the rubber, making a fully watertight joint, then covers the edges with a Firestone 'lap sealant' for added waterproofing. The same meticulous approach leads him to use Firestone glue - three times dearer than others sold by builders’ merchants. "I'm adamant that nobody else goes to these lengths," Ben adds. "That's my perfectionism creeping in!".
